Crisis Care

A crisis can look like lots of different things but most often it causes unusually strong emotional reactions which interferes with our ability to function normally. A crisis usually impacts us emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally and relationally. When this happens, it helps to invite someone to walk with you until the crisis subsides. These are a few resources and more may be available through the Care Ministry, care@fefc.org or 891-1631.

Suicide Prevention -

Our city offers multiple avenues of care for preventing death by suicide. Suicide is profoundly tragic. If you or anyone you know is considering suicide, please call 911, 472-HELP or 1-800-273-TALK. For those who have experienced a friend or loved one who died by suicide, the following resources may be helpful: Grief Share (www.griefshare.org), For the Love of Christi (fortheloveofchristi.org) and Survivors of Suicide (www.sos-austin.com).

Domestic and Sexual Violence -

We are here for you now and through recovery. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence or has experienced sexual violence, please call Safe Place at 267-SAFE (7233), or 911. One comes from Austin Life Care, 374-0055, which has Bible Studies on healing from sexual abuse. Other resources are available at FEFC or online. Your Caring Ministries staff is available to be with you as you make the call or even go with you to seek support whereever you are in the process of healing.
