ORCHESTRA SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES

The FEFC Orchestra meets summer each Sunday at 10:30am in the Orchestra room (located in the far northwest corner of the Christian Life Center) to rehearse the service music for the 11am service.  The orchestra accompanies congregational singing, choral anthems, and occasionally provides the offertory for the morning service. If you have skills equivalent to a high school level player, you will be adequately prepared for any music we perform on Sunday.

The formation of various small groups and instrumental ensembles provides another musical opportunity for instrumentalists.  Brass quintets, flute trios, woodwind quintets, and string quartets have all been assembled to provide special music in the 11am service.  If you are interested in participating in any aspect of our orchestral program at FEFC, contact Mary Ellen at mejohnson@fefc.org.

Current needs:

Brass--we have a strong brass section, but could use a another trombone player and horn player.

Strings--we would welcome more string players--violins, violas, cellos or bass!

Woodwinds--excepting flutes, we would welcome additional woodwinds, especially a bassoonist and saxophone players.
